Od jejich obrn\u011bn\u00e9ho exoskeletu a\u017e po jedovat\u00e9 \u017eihadlo prakticky ka\u017ed\u00e1 funkce slou\u017e\u00ed dvoj\u00edmu \u00fa\u010delu: zachytit ko\u0159ist nebo ji chr\u00e1nit p\u0159ed pred\u00e1tory, jako jsou pt\u00e1ci a hadi. Entomologov\u00e9 v\u0161ak po cel\u00e1 desetilet\u00ed tu\u0161ili, \u017ee tito \u010dlenovci maj\u00ed p\u0159\u00edmo v jejich biologii zabudovanou skrytou v\u00fdhodu \u2013 <strong>kovov\u00e9 v\u00fdztuhy<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<p>P\u0159esto\u017ee stopov\u00e1 mno\u017estv\u00ed kov\u016f byla ji\u017e d\u0159\u00edve nalezena v exoskeletech n\u011bkter\u00fdch druh\u016f \u0161t\u00edr\u016f, p\u0159esn\u00e1 distribuce, koncentrace a funk\u010dn\u00ed \u00fa\u010del t\u011bchto kov\u016f z\u016fstaly z\u00e1hadou. Pomoc\u00ed pokro\u010dil\u00fdch technik mikroanal\u00fdzy, v\u010detn\u011b elektronov\u00e9 mikroskopie s vysok\u00fdm rozli\u0161en\u00edm a rentgenov\u00e9 anal\u00fdzy, zmapovali chemick\u00e9 slo\u017een\u00ed \u0161t\u00ed\u0159\u00edch dr\u00e1p\u016f a \u017eihadel v bezprecedentn\u00edch detailech. <\/p>\n<h3>Zinek, mangan a \u017eelezo: biologick\u00e1 slitina<\/h3>\n<p>V\u00fdsledky uk\u00e1zaly konzistentn\u00ed vzorec obohacov\u00e1n\u00ed kovem mezi studovan\u00fdmi druhy. V\u00fdzkumn\u00edci identifikovali dv\u011b r\u016fzn\u00e9 vrstvy kov\u016f ve \u0161korpionov\u00fdch zbran\u00edch:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Stingers:<\/strong> Jehlovit\u00e9 hroty obsahovaly vysok\u00e9 koncentrace <strong>zinku<\/strong> n\u00e1sledovan\u00e9ho vrstvou <strong>manganu<\/strong>. <\/li>\n<li><strong>dr\u00e1py:<\/strong> Pohybliv\u00e1 \u010d\u00e1st dr\u00e1pu, zn\u00e1m\u00e1 jako tarsus, m\u011bla \u0159ezn\u00e9 hrany vyztu\u017een\u00e9 bu\u010f zinkem, nebo kombinac\u00ed <strong>zinku a \u017eeleza<\/strong>. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Tyto kovy p\u016fsob\u00ed jako p\u0159\u00edrodn\u00ed slitiny, posiluj\u00ed chitin exoskeletu a zabra\u0148uj\u00ed opot\u0159eben\u00ed p\u0159i lovu a boji. Konkr\u00e9tn\u00ed distribuce t\u011bchto kov\u016f v\u0161ak odporovala p\u016fvodn\u00edm p\u0159edpoklad\u016fm v\u00fdzkumn\u00edk\u016f. <\/p>\n<h3>S\u00edla je d\u016fle\u017eit\u011bj\u0161\u00ed ne\u017e s\u00edla<\/h3>\n<p>Oproti o\u010dek\u00e1v\u00e1n\u00ed studie zjistila, \u017ee <strong>zinek nen\u00ed prim\u00e1rn\u011b spojen s drt\u00edc\u00ed silou<\/strong>. V\u011bdci p\u0159edpov\u011bd\u011bli, \u017ee druhy s velk\u00fdmi, siln\u00fdmi dr\u00e1py pou\u017e\u00edvan\u00fdmi k drcen\u00ed ko\u0159isti budou vykazovat nejvy\u0161\u0161\u00ed hladiny zinku. U druh\u016f, kter\u00e9 pou\u017e\u00edvaj\u00ed dlouh\u00e9, tenk\u00e9 kle\u0161t\u011b k dr\u017een\u00ed bojuj\u00edc\u00ed ko\u0159isti nehybn\u00e9 p\u0159i kous\u00e1n\u00ed, je <strong>trvanlivost a odolnost v ohybu<\/strong> d\u016fle\u017eit\u011bj\u0161\u00ed ne\u017e hrub\u00e1 drtiv\u00e1 s\u00edla.
