Narodil se 23. \u00fanora 1951 v japonsk\u00e9 Nagoji a nestudoval jen matematiku. Znovu vynalezl n\u00e1stroje pro jeden z nejn\u00e1ro\u010dn\u011bj\u0161\u00edch probl\u00e9m\u016f oboru: klasifikaci algebraick\u00fdch variet. <\/p>\n<p>Uzn\u00e1n\u00ed k n\u011bmu p\u0159i\u0161lo brzy. V roce 1990 na Mezin\u00e1rodn\u00edm kongresu matematik\u016f v Kj\u00f3tu obdr\u017eel Mori Fieldsovu medaili. Tato cena se \u010dasto naz\u00fdv\u00e1 \u201eNobelova cena za matematiku\u201c. Byla ocen\u011bna za pr\u016flomovou pr\u00e1ci v algebraick\u00e9 geometrii, zejm\u00e9na za schopnost klasifikovat tvary definovan\u00e9 soustavami algebraick\u00fdch rovnic. <\/p>\n<h3>Spojen\u00ed s Kj\u00f3tem a akademick\u00fd vzestup<\/h3>\n<p>Moriho akademick\u00e1 cesta je \u00fazce propojena s Kj\u00f3tskou univerzitou. Bakal\u00e1\u0159sk\u00fd titul z\u00edskal v roce 1973, magistersk\u00fd titul v roce 1975 a nakonec titul Ph.D. v roce 1978. Na univerzit\u011b z\u016fstal jako p\u0159edn\u00e1\u0161ej\u00edc\u00ed do roku 1980 a pot\u00e9 se kr\u00e1tce p\u0159est\u011bhoval na univerzitu v Nagoji. <\/p>\n<p>Kj\u00f3to mu ale z\u016fstalo oporou. V letech 1990 a\u017e 2016 p\u016fsobil jako profesor ve V\u00fdzkumn\u00e9m \u00fastavu matematick\u00fdch v\u011bd (RIMS). V letech 2011 a\u017e 2014 nav\u00edc p\u016fsobil jako \u0159editel institutu. Po odchodu z RIMS se p\u0159est\u011bhoval do Kj\u00f3tsk\u00e9ho institutu pro pokro\u010dil\u00e1 studia a nad\u00e1le ovliv\u0148oval dal\u0161\u00ed generaci v\u00fdzkumn\u00edk\u016f. <\/p>\n<h3>\u0158e\u0161en\u00ed nevy\u0159e\u0161en\u00e9ho probl\u00e9mu: Hartshorneovy dohady<\/h3>\n<p>P\u0159ed svou hlavn\u00ed prac\u00ed na klasifikaci zp\u016fsobil Mori v roce 1979 senzaci. Prok\u00e1zal Hartshornovu domn\u011bnku. Byl to nevy\u0159e\u0161en\u00fd probl\u00e9m v algebraick\u00e9 geometrii, kter\u00fd odborn\u00edky ohromoval. Jej\u00ed rozhodnut\u00ed ho vyneslo do \u0159ad p\u0159edn\u00edch odborn\u00edk\u016f. <\/p>\n<p>Jeho nejv\u00fdznamn\u011bj\u0161\u00ed p\u0159\u00ednos v\u0161ak sahal hloub\u011bji. Zam\u011b\u0159il se na klasifikaci algebraick\u00fdch variet. Jedn\u00e1 se o soubory \u0159e\u0161en\u00ed syst\u00e9m\u016f algebraick\u00fdch rovnic zahrnuj\u00edc\u00edch n\u011bkolik prom\u011bnn\u00fdch. Pro vy\u0161\u0161\u00ed dimenze byl chaos je\u0161t\u011b v\u011bt\u0161\u00ed. <\/p>\n<p>Mori vyvinul mocn\u00e9 nov\u00e9 techniky k prora\u017een\u00ed t\u00e9to zdi. Vytvo\u0159il r\u00e1mec \u2013 nyn\u00ed zn\u00e1m\u00fd jako Program minim\u00e1ln\u00edho modelu \u2013 kter\u00fd umo\u017enil matematik\u016fm zjednodu\u0161it a klasifikovat tyto slo\u017eit\u00e9 trojrozm\u011brn\u00e9 tvary. To znamenalo posun v p\u0159\u00edstupu cel\u00e9ho oboru k \u0159e\u0161en\u00ed probl\u00e9mu. <\/p>\n<p>Tato pr\u00e1ce z\u016fst\u00e1v\u00e1 aktu\u00e1ln\u00ed i dnes. A\u010dkoli je kompletn\u00ed klasifikace pro v\u00edcerozm\u011brn\u00e9 potrub\u00ed st\u00e1le v nedohlednu, konkr\u00e9tn\u00ed v\u00fdsledky existuj\u00ed d\u00edky z\u00e1klad\u016fm, kter\u00e9 polo\u017eil Mori. Jeho metody prom\u011bnily nemo\u017enou ze\u010f v pr\u016fchoz\u00ed krajinu. <\/p>\n<h3>Kl\u00ed\u010dov\u00e9 publikace<\/h3>\n<p>Mori sv\u00e9 objevy neudr\u017eel v tajnosti. Spolupracoval s p\u0159edn\u00edmi osobnostmi jako Herbert Clemens nebo Janos Koll\u00e1r. Spole\u010dn\u011b vydali v roce 1988 knihu <em>Vy\u0161\u0161\u00ed rozm\u011brn\u00e1 komplexn\u00ed geometrie<\/em>.
